Day 1 : Arrival Day in Bordeaux / Pessac leognan

Arrival & Welcome

 

Meet and greet by English speaking guide at Gare Montparnasse, Paris. Morning speed train from Paris to Bordeaux.

Arrival midday Bordeaux Saint Jean Railway Station. Meet and greet by our English speaking tour guide.

 

First Winery tour of Smith Haut Lafitte, ranked among the Grands Crus Classés for red wine

Welcome Diner at one of Les Sources de Caudalie’s restaurants that serves creative bistro-style food with fine seasonal home-grown organic products.

Overnight at Château Le Thil, a newly restored Sources de Caudalie property. All the rooms offer a beautiful view of the park. The rooms and their design have been strongly inspired by the history of the Bordeaux region.

 

Day 2 :  Pessac Léognan / Saint Emilion discovery

Explore Pessac Léognan
Morning departure to discover Pessac Léognan (South of Bordeaux city), one of  the  most beautiful vineyards (Graves Appellation located on the left bank of the river Garonne) and the oldest wine-growing region of Bordeaux.

Wine tour and wine tasting in Château Carbonnieux, one of the oldest estates in the Bordeaux region that produces Grand Cru Classés wines since 1959, well known for its white wines. Followed by a visit of the Château Haut-Bailly, one of the most prestigious Grand Cru Classé Graves.

Private Gourmet Lunch at the Château Haut Bailly, where you will savour seasonal ingredients enhanced by the innovative culinary creations of the Chef, perfectly matched with the Château's wines.

 

Saint-Emilion
Transfer to the world famous wine area : Saint Emilion, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO,  where two thousand years of a relationship between man and vines await you.

Guided tour around the most reputed vineyards of Saint Emilion with wine tasting in exclusively selected vineyards.

At the end of the afternoon, time to relax and settle in a stylish and sophisticated private residence.

Gourmet Dinner at a secluded restaurant owned by a chef previously working for 3-star Michelin restaurants.

Overnight at the Private residence walking distance from the charming Saint-Emilion village.

DAY 4 : Medoc Discovery 

 

Breakfast at Château du Tertre

 

Wine tours
Visit of Château Giscours, winery that produces the famous Grand Cru Classé in the Margaux appellation area and settled in a beautiful 19th-century castle.

Followed by a wine tour of the elegant Château Pichon-Longueville that produces a first class Second Cru in the Pauillac Appellation.

Private Gourmet Lunch at the Château Pichon Longueville Baron. You will feel like the owner of a wine estate for the duration of a lunch time experience!

Organic Wine tour and tasting at the famous Chateau Pontet-Canet located in the northern end of the Pauillac area, across the road from the famous Château Mouton Rothschild.  You are invited to stroll through the stunning and organic vineyards on a golf buggy where you will be given a unique insight into the skills involved in the production of its wine. You then enter the 19th century vat room with its metallic structure which is architecturally inspired by the Eiffel era. This is followed by a visit to its brand new triconic vat room, the first of its kind in the Medoc. 

 

Prestigious wine tour and blind tasting at Lynch Bages
Transfer to Lynch Bages estate that owns no less than three of the four Premiers Crus Classés of the Médoc region. At the gates of Pauillac, the Lynch-Bages Estate owes part of its name to the ancient hamlet of Bages, which, for centuries, was home to generations of winemakers.

Blind folded Tasting at the Cercle Lynch Bages. Blind tasting is certainly considered to be the fairest way of assessing a wine. But also the most fun!

Overnight at Cordeillan Bages, an attractive 17th century mansion converted into a hotel and restaurant, a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux. 

Day 3 :  Saint Emilion / Medoc discovery

Guided walking tour of Saint Emilion village, a magnificent medieval village that reveals beautiful historical monuments and dozens of extraordinary wine shops.

Lunch in a the renowned Château La Dominique whose beautiful and modern wine storehouse has been recently designed by Jean Nouvel.

Drive through amazing the Saint Emilion Wine Juridiction and the most renowned Merlot vineyards of the world.

 

Transfer to the Medoc region. Nestled between the Atlantic ocean and the Gironde river, the region benefits from a temperate climate particularly favourable to great vintages.  Talented winemakers work on 8 Medoc prestigious appellations to achieve an unparalleled level of quality to ensure the success of their wines all over the world.

Wine tour of Château La Lagune, classified as one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.

 

Private Diner at Château La Lagune. You will be greeted in a Rothschild style salon and share a wonderful meal in the superb arched kitchen of the 18th-century chartreuse. Experience an exclusive meal while you see the chef cooking.

 

Night at Château du Tertre, an elegant chateau built in 1855 surrounded by vineyards where you will enjoy the “Art de vivre à la française”! 

 

DAY 5 : Bordeaux Discovery / Paris

 

Breakfast at Cordeillan Bages

 

Morning visit of the city of Bordeaux. A Unesco World Heritage Site since 2007 for its value and unique heritage. Capital of the Gironde region, Bordeaux city is an architectural gem dating from the eighteenth century that has known how to seamlessly integrate 19th-century additions that were essential in modernising the city. Accompanied with a certified English-speaking guide, you will wander around the capital of wines, scent the flavors of the local markets, feel the presence of the Garonne rive and admire the shiny white-stoned 19th century buildings

 

Lunch in a typical Bordeaux Bistro . The best opportunity to try out the specialties of the region such as oysters,  Bazas’ beef,  cannelé, naturally …. with a glass of Bordeaux wine.

 

Departure for Paris

Transfer to Saint Jean Railway station. Speed train to Paris (duration : 3h30).

 

Evening at leisure

 

Overnight at Pavillon des Lettres hotel, a refined and “poetry” hotel that combines history and modernity located in the heart of Paris, in the golden triangle of the city of light, walking distance from main museums, Grands Magasins shopping areas and Champs Elysées Avenue.
