Upon your arrival in Bordeaux, our travel guide will transfer you to a meeting area where five vintage cars, including Jaguar Type E v12, MG TD Midget, Corvette C3 and Porsche 356, will be at your disposal. Driving in one of these iconic cars, and accompanied by an expert, you will start your adventure on the beautiful Pessac Leognan and Graves wine roads. Sojourns for private wine tastings at some of the most prestigious wine estates, such as Château Smith Haut Laffite, are included.

Next stop will be the amazing Château Haut Bailly, where you will start with a private visit of the estate, a Grand Cru Classé Graves. Afterwards, you will enjoy a private gourmet lunch inside one of the sequestered and authentic rooms of the Château. Seasonal ingredients transformed into innovative culinary creations by a top chef will be perfectly complemented by the Château's wines.

Back in Bordeaux, you will bid adieu to your vintage car and a deluxe mini-van will transfer you to another prestigious wine castle in the Medoc region, Château Beychevelle. You will experience an authentic vie de château in this castle which combines tradition and elegance with hospitality and warmth. La Table de Beychevelle offers local specialties in a luxurious setting.

OVERNIGHT STAY AT CHÂTEAU BEYCHEVELLE

Day 2 :  Saturday, 4 July, 2015: Explore Medoc and Paulliac

Continental breakfast at the hotel

Continental Breakfast Today, you’ll discover the Medoc and Pauillac regions. Your first stop will be the elegant Château Pichon-Longueville that produces a first class Second Cru in the Pauillac Appellation. Here, after a private visit of the newly renovated cellar, a top-class chef will prepare a private gourmet lunch at the Château Pichon Longueville Baron. The wine tour with private tastings will continue with the famous Chateau Pontet-Canet located in the northern end of the Pauillac area. You’ll be invited to explore the stunning organic vineyards on a golf buggy where you’ll be given a unique insight into the skills involved in the production of the Chateau’s wine. A visit to a 19th-century vat room, with its metallic structure architecturally inspired by the works of Eiffel, will be followed by a visit to a brand new triconic vat room, the first of its kind in the Medoc.

Next stop will be the Lynch Bages estate that owns no less than three of the four Premiers Crus Classés of the Médoc region. This estate at the gates of Pauillac owes part of its name to the ancient hamlet of Bages, which was home to generations of winemakers for centuries. After the final wine tour, you will have the pleasure of private dining at Château La Lagune. You will be welcomed in a Rothschild-style salon and share a wonderful meal in a superb arched kitchen of the 18th-century chartreuse. Enjoy a delicious meal while you watch a top chef work his magic!

OVERNIGHT STAY AT CHÂTEAU BEYCHEVELLE

Day 3 : Sunday, 5 july, 2015: Discover Arcachon Bay

Continental breakfast at the hotel

Transfer by mini-van will be organized to this beautifully preserved region located west of Bordeaux. This Atlantic Ocean’s bay covers 150 km2 at high tide, with beaches, pine forest and huge sand dunes. Some of its geological features are natural preservation areas.

As part of a private cruise, you’ll sail around the Bay and discover the beautiful Ile aux Oiseaux onboard a typical boat called “Pinasse”. The Island is a wonderful place to visit at low tide, featuring houses on stilts. You’ll have a chance to meet an oyster farmer, sample some oysters with lemon zest, and Entre-deux-mers white wine. Then, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in a tiny traditional bistro.

Time-permitting, after lunch you’ll be able to visit the town of Arcachon. There, you admire architectural gems from various past eras: Gothic manors, chalets and colonial homes, as well as Moorish houses where some of the greatest French artists of the 19th century used to live.

Alternatively, you’ll venture to the mouth of the bay, accompanied by your guide, to view the famous Dune de Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe, and enjoy the stunning view of the lush forests on one side and the ocean on the other.
